AISP advises London gold medalist Emong on wish to join Police

National Council of Sports has welcome World Para Athletics Championships 2017 gold medalist David Emong back to the country with a promise to grant his wish to join the Uganda Police force.

AISP Andrew Sorowen who is also a member of the National Council of Sports escorted by assistant general secretaries Dr. Berbard Ogwel (administration) and David Katende (technical), the chief accountant Bbaale Mohammed among others received Emong at the airport today.

Sorowen said that Emong is free to join the police force if he wants to.  Emong has for long been requesting the forces in Uganda to absorb to allow him survive.

“The president has directed that the forces absorb more sportsmen and women. So if Emong has chosen Police among other forces, he can be absorbed,” Sorowen said much to jubilation by Emong’s friends and family members had gone to receive him at the airport.

Emong has promised to work hard and win more medals for Uganda at different international Paralympic championships.

Emong dedicated the gold medal to Uganda and promised to work hard for the country.

From the airport, Emong headed straight to State House, Nakasero where he met the first lady Janet Museveni.
