FOOTBALL:Micho starts Miya on Uganda Cranes bench in Tunisia

Uganda Cranes has started midfielder Faruku Miya on the bench against Tunisia in an international friendly on Wednesday evening.

The squad released by head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has Yunus Sentamu and Edirisa Lubega

After this game, the coach will name the final 23 man squad to be submitted to CAF for the Total Africa Cup of Nations finals 2017.

Uganda Cranes start AFCON finals journey-Micho

The Uganda Cranes players currently in Tunisia had Gym session at the Ramada Lounge Hotel Gymnasium on Monday morning.

The players who arrived in Tunis on Sunday are booked at the same hotel.

They will have second training session in Tunis on Monday evening at the Menzah Stadium at 5:30pm East Africa Standard time.

FOOTBALL: Onyango, Luwagga out of Tunisia friendly

Uganda’s first choice goalkeeper Dennis Onyango and right winger Luwagga Kizito are not available for the Cranes international friendly tomorrow.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic confirmed absence of the players for selection but hopes to have them available for the subsequent international friendly matches against Cote D’Ivoire and Slovakia in Dubai.

The match against Slovakia will be played on the January 8, 2017 and against the current Africa Champions Cote D’Ivoire three days later.

Cranes arrive in Tunis after a daylong delay

Uganda Cranes has arrived in Tunisian capital Tunis Sunday morning after a day long delay in Dubai, United Arab Emirate due to bad weather there.

Head of Delegation Hamid Juma confirmed the delay saying that “We have finalised plans for the team to fly to Tunisia. It has been a challenge due to reasons beyond our control”.

Bad weather in Dubai forced the flight crew to fly to Doha as a safety measure where the Uganda Cranes spent the night.

Uganda Cranes is scheduled to play friendly matches against Tunisia, Slovakia and Ivory Coast before flying to Gabon for the Total AFCON Finals 2017.
