FOOTBALL: FIFA approves billions shillings for Ugandan football

FUFA has received FIFA confirmation for more development fund in 2017, the FUFA president Moses Magogo revealed this in his end year media communication in Mengo yesterday.

FIFA has increased its financial support to Member Associations and football development fund to U$5m (sh18b) for a period of the next four-year cycle.

FUFA hopes to use the money to build its own modern stadium in a yet to be identified location preferably in Buganda region.

Three top FUFA officials led by the president Moses Magogo are in Djibouti to be enlighten on the FIFA Forward Programme Workshop.

 

At a FIFA workshop aimed at educating member associations on how to access and productively to manage the available funds the federation announced approved proposed a number of FUFA projects under its new programme (FFP).

FOOTBALL: Uganda's Nabweteme shines in America

Ugandan female footballer Sandra Nabweteme has won two awards in the Great American Conference with Southwestern Oklahoma State University women football.

The Crested Cranes player was Wednesday night named the Great American Conference Freshman of the Year and First Team All Conference in her debut season.

Since her arrival at the team Nabweteme scored 19 goals and made eight assists to register a performance that helped her team win the Great American Conference regular season title during her first year.

FOOTBALL: USA based Azira beleives teamwork will be Cranes weapon in Gabon

Uganda Cranes and Colorado Rapids midfielder Mike Azira has joined the rest in promising to ensure teamwork is their biggest weapon at the AFCON finals in Gabon.

Uganda Cranes and Colorado Rapids (USA) midfielder Mike Azira has joined the rest in promising to ensure teamwork is their biggest weapon at the AFCON finals in Gabon. 

Azira added his voice to emphasize teamwork if the Cranes should make an impact at the AFCON finals in Gabon starting next month.

The player has not had a lot of time with the Cranes yet but he is promising big with his own style play in the team’s midfield.

Azira, team captain Geoffrey Massa and another midfielder Khalid Aucho had their first training at IUIU Girls Campus Kabojja Tuesday morning.
